GALA VI is a "Sanderling" built by Marshall Marine of So. Dartmouth, Mass. in 1970, a company still very much in business. She is of Fibreglas construction, L.O.A. 18' 2" L.W.L. 17'6", BEAM: 8'6 and displacing 2200 lbs. Sail area: 253 sq. ft. She is equipped with a modern DSC-equipped ship-to-shore VHF radio, interfaced with the GPS. Auxiliary engine: Yanmar 1-GM single-cylinder Diesel engine. All Coast-Guard required safety equipment is present and accounted for.
